The piece features an unnamed member of the Whitstable shanty singers who Catman spotted drinking on the beach last summer.

Catman said: "I had been planing to do it for sometime but was held up as I could not track him down.

"Once the idea started evolving I knew his image would be perfect for a drink local painting but just could not find him.

"Then last summer I was on the beach and he was there singing with tankard in hand, it was almost perfect timing."

The sketch has already received more than 140 likes and several fans posted comments in support.

Linda Gilder posted: "I love this artist xx cheers me up xx" while Kristin Watson Finnigan added: "Love it!! X"

The artwork is the newest piece by Catman since his Whitstable diver appeared at Whitstable Junior School in the New Year.
