An elderly woman suffered minor head injuries when she was hit by a lorry in Canterbury city centre this afternoon.

The 75-year-old was clipped by the side of the HGV, which was reversing near the Canterbury Heritage Museum in Stour Street, at about midday.

Police and ambulance crews rushed to the scene, and medics treated the woman for injuries including a cut to her face.

She was then taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford as a precaution.
