Cycle crash closes Downs Road on the Hales Place estate in Canterbury

A man has been air lifted to hospital after coming off his bike on a housing estate.

It happened shortly before 2pm in Downs Road on the Hales Place estate in Canterbury.

Emergency services, including the Kent Air Ambulance, were called to the scene and police closed the road while the injured man was treated.

He was taken by air ambulance to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford with suspected head and shoulder injuries.

Stagecoach diverted its services for the 21/21A and Uni 2 buses while the incident was dealt with. The road has since re-opened.
