EuroCanterbury Ladies rounded off their Investec Women's Hockey League Premier Division season with a 2-1 win over Bowden Hometown at Polo Farm on Saturday.

The victory sees them finish third, qualifying for the end-of-season of play-offs.

Susannah Townsend's (pictured) open-play strike put them ahead after eight minutes, before Jen Wilson doubled the lead eight minutes from time.

Anne Panter pulled one back two minutes later, but the Ladies held on.

Top scorer David Mathews hit a hat-trick as champions Canterbury men finished their Men's Conference East campaign with a 7-2 home win against City of Peterborough on Saturday. He also missed two penalty flicks in the space of four minutes in the second half.

They face Men's Conference West champions Bath Buccaneers in the first leg of the promotion and relegation play-offs at Bisham Abbey on Saturday.
