Faversham boss Ray Turner has ruled out radical changes this summer after the club ended their first season in the Ryman League Division 1 South just four points adrift of the play-offs.

Turner, who took over the reins after Justin Luchford’s resignation in March, said: "We’ve spoken with the players and want to retain most of them. The feeling in the squad is positive and I am confident everyone wants to be part of it next season.

"Maybe there will be one or two leaving but we will also hope to bring one or two in, although we won’t be making a complete overhaul of the squad. We’re happy with what we’ve got."

Turner (pictured) added: "There are a couple of areas where we have looked at and we’ll try and see what we can do. In the next few weeks and over the summer we’ll nail a few players down.

"We know that some players will be approached but we’ve sat down with them and they’ve given us positive feedback."

Faversham were promoted from the Kent League the previous season and excelled in their first campaign in the Ryman League.

"If we can maintain the direction we are going then I’m sure we can keep pushing on," added Turner.

"We finished as the division’s top club in Kent, beating many established sides and that stands us in good stead."

"The supporters will also have left feeling good and it all sets us up nicely for next season now."
