Crews investigated the source of the smoke, removing a cupboard in a first floor bedroom. They discovered a small, smouldering fire in one of the beams, close to the chimney breast.

Attendance was reduced to a three fire engines and a height vehicle, just before 4pm.

Crews have been cutting away and removing some bricks within the chimney stack to expose the source of the fire and extinguish it fully, while preserving as much of the property as possible.
