Canterbury: Cornfield ablaze as firefighters use all-terrain vehicle to tackle inferno

Firefighters spent nearly six hours battling a blaze at a cornfield.

Seven fire engines, specialist appliances and around 35 firefighters dealt with the incident in Stodmarsh, near Canterbury.

The Fire and Rescue Service was called to the field adjacent to Moat Lane near Canterbury at 2.16pm today.

Crews were still damping down the scene at 8.35pm, although the fire was out.
