A2 shut London-bound near Canterbury after fuel spill

The A2 has reopened following an earlier fuel spill.

The busy carriageway was completely closed between the A2050 for Bekesbourne and the A28 Thanington Road near Canterbury at around 7.40am.

A lorry broke down and spilt a large amount of fuel over the road.

One lane reopened at around 9am, and the other lane reopened just before 10.30am.

Congestion has since cleared.
