Herne Bay has a new star in its midst after teenager Belle Fisher was crowned world hip hop dance champion.

It made her the first ever dancer to hold both European and world championship titles at the same time.

The 15-year-old has been lauded as the brightest up-and-coming street dancer by Ashley Banjo, the leader of Britain's Got Talent winners Diversity.

She took the award at the Brondby Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark, after performing at the world championships.

Father Glenn Fisher, who runs the Dance Domain School in Herne Bay, said: "I think that for her to win both titles and to break a record as the only UK person to do it is an amazing achievement.

"I'm really pleased and take my hat off to her."

Belle has appeared on Sky1's Got to Dance and BBC's Alesha's Street Dance Stars, which she won.

She is now looking forward to future music videos, head-to-head street dance competitions and developing her acting skills.

Belle has also been working hard at school, even attending extra classes to complete work during half-term.

Mr Fisher added: "She has had offers saying she should be doing this or that, including going to the USA or China for street-dance battles, but she would like to go to a London dance college.

"This will definitely be her career, but we're not 100% sure of the exact path. It has not been decided.

"She just keeps pushing and pushing, but at the moment she is taking each step at a time."
