Canterbury: Pin Hill speed camera proves Kent's most prolific

Kent's most prolific speed camera caught more than 20,000 drivers in three years.

The machine, on the Canterbury ring road at Pin Hill, penalised 23,748 motorists, making it the fifth highest-earning in the country.

Figures obtained by the Daily Star show cameras in only Kidderminster, Redditch, Lincolnshire and Manchester snapped more drivers.

The Kidderminster camera, which tops the list, was triggered 41,056 times – an average of more than 250 times every week – over a 36-month period.

The Pin Hill machine on the A28, which snaps drivers breaking the 30mph limit, has its own Facebook page, describing itself as "the beautiful little yellow box that generates income when the traffic eases slightly".
