Tailbacks have cleared on the London-bound carriageway of the A299 Thanet Way from the Highstreet Road turnoff to Wraik Hill following a lane closure.
Some drivers were earlier reporting delays of as many as 50 minutes.
One section of carriageway was coned off.
Kent police say they have no record of an accident there, and there are no scheduled roadworks.
