A2 closed after car hits lamppost between Canterbury and Brenley Corner at Faversham

Police have now reopened a major traffic route towards the coast after a car hit a lamppost near Faversham, leaving it hanging over the carriageway.

The accident happened on the A2 near the Gate services on the approach to the city of Canterbury.

Police have been on the scene and the air ambulance was called.
