Man appears in court over Faversham murder

A 20-year-old man has appeared before Sittingbourne Magistrates this morning charged with the murder of a teenager in Faversham.

Adam Beaney, 19, died following an incident at the town's Recreation Ground in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Rickie Mount of Edward Vinson Drive in Faversham was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, June 22.

A 20-year-old woman arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder has been released without charge.

Two other women, aged 42 and 59 and both from Faversham, were also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. The pair have been bailed until tomorrow pending further enquiries.
