Man arrested in Herne Bay on suspicion of drink driving after car crashes through wall in Sea Street

A man has been arrested in Herne Bay after this car smashed through a concrete wall last night.

The 36-year-old was held on suspicion of drink driving after a silver Vauxhall Insignia crashed through the fence in Sea Street, close to a Skoda garage.

He was taken into police custody shortly after 11pm.

Police spokesman Jane Walker said the man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol.

He remains in custody today.
