Man dies after collision with Kia Picanto in Chartham near Canterbury

A 83-year-old has died after he was struck by a car.

He was crossing the A28 Ashford Road in Chartham near the entrance of Burnt House Farm at 4.12pm yesterday when he was hit by a black Kia Picanto.

He was treated at the scene by ambulance crews but died en route to King's College Hospital in London.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the elderly man just before the incident.

He was wearing a high-visibility jacket and may have been carrying an umbrella.
