Detectives investigating a serious sex attack on a woman earlier this year have arrested a 30-year-old man.

The incident is said to have happened in University Road in Canterbury in the early hours of Friday, June 2.

Officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have been following a number of lines of enquiry, including forensic evidence and a review of all available CCTV.

The 30-year-old man from Canterbury was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and remains in custody.
