Concern for woman on railway bridge between Oxford Road and Lansdown Road in Canterbury

Police were called to a bridge across a railway line in Canterbury today following concerns about a woman's welfare.

The alarm was raised shortly after midday after the woman was seen on the footbridge between Oxford Road and Lansdown Road.

Trains were prevented from passing through while officers were at the scene.

Trains were prevented from passing through while officers were at the scene.

They are thought to have spent around 10 minutes with the woman before she was led to safety abd taken into the care of health professionals.

Train services were resumed shortly after.

There was a similar incident at the same bridge on Sunday, April 8 involving a woman which was also safely resolved.
