Overturned lorry closes the B2046 Adisham Road at Aylesham

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious lorry crash.

The busy Adisham Road at Aylesham was closed for several hours after the HGV hit a tree and overturned this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the industrial estate around 9.15am following the incident, including three fire crews and a technical rescue team.

The B2046 was shut in both directions between Cooting Road and the A2 until the evening.

Officers from the serious collision investigation unit have now left the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the lorry in the moments leading up to it is asked to phone the appeal line on 01622 798538 quoting 29-0260.
