Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Canterbury.
A 20-year-old man was walking with three female friends along the alleyway that leads from Headcorn Drive to Bird Cage Walk on Hales Place estate at 6.50 pm on Friday night when he was approached by a man.
He asked for money and cigarettes and threatened he would stab them.
The victim refused to hand over anything and the suspect ran off down the alleyway towards Headcorn Drive.
He is described as white, aged 18 to 22, of slim build, with short dark brown hair.
He was wearing a dark hooded top and dark trousers.
He had been drinking from a silver can that had a red logo.
Anyone who knows the identity of the suspect is asked to contact DC Louise Hammond on 101 quoting crime reference ZY/2480/13.
