Shoppers turned away from Asda in Canterbury due to technical issues

A busy city supermarket was shut for hours today due to technical problems.

Shoppers at Asda in Canterbury were asked to leave the store this morning after the tills stopped working and those trying to access the shop were turned away.

A spokesman for the Sturry Road store confirmed the closure was down to "technical issues" but says it has now reopened.

He says tills are up and running and shoppers can now access the store.
