Faversham tourism bosses hold Southcliffe tour to capitalise on success of Channel 4 show

A "Southcliffe tour" is being held in Faversham to capitalise on the town's 15 minutes of TV fame.

The spotlight fell on the town as the harrowing drama filmed in and around the town got its long-awaited airing earlier this year.

The nation's eyes fell on its picturesque streets, misty marshes and winding Creek when the four-part thriller was screened on Channel 4 in August.

Now the team at the Faversham Enterprise Partnership is hosting a walk to take visitors around the film locations.

It will include Standard Quay, Oyster Bay House, the marshes, Iron Wharf boatyard, the container where the commander lived, the rickety white bridge and the sounds of Green Diesel - a folk band were seen playing during the first two episodes of Southcliffe.

The walk takes place on Sunday, November 17 and people can meet at the Guildhall, in the Market Place, at 2pm.

Southcliffe, described as a gritty crime series full of suspense and action, was shot across the whole town and outskirts over four months during the winter.
