Canterbury: Teenager, 17, accused of kidnap and sex assault in city

A teenager accused of kidnap and sexually assaulting a woman is due to appear in court tomorrow.

The 17-year-old, who has not been named by police, was arrested in Kirby's Lane, Canterbury, on Friday.

Following a police interview, he has been charged with kidnap with the intent to commit a sexual offence in Sturry Road, Canterbury, on November 5.

He is also accused of sexually assaulting a woman in the city on the same day.

The boy, of no fixed address, has also been charged with the theft of a mobile phone in Station Road East on April 24 and a robbery in St Dunstan's Street on August 24.

Officers have also charged him with a burglary in Edwin Street, Gravesend on July 2.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Thanet Youth Court tomorrow (Tuesday).
