Forensics at the scene of suspected fatal stabbing in Teynham

Three men are being questioned on suspicion of murder after a man suffered a fatal stab wound near Faversham early this morning.

The 21-year-old was discovered lying on the ground outside a block of flats in London Road, Teynham, at about 2am.

Police had been called to the same address half-an-hour earlier after reports of an argument - only to resolve the issue and leave.

The injured man, from Sittingbourne, was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after.

A post mortem is due to be carried out this afternoon.

Police have cordoned off the flats in London Road, Teynham

Three local men, aged 29, 31 and 48, were arrested and are currently in police custody.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have heard or witnessed the disturbance at 1.30am or may have information about what happened between then and when police were called again.
