Fire crews rescue man trapped in mud in Reculver Lane in Herne Bay

Fire crews were called to Reculver Lane in Herne Bay

Fire crews freed three passengers who were trapped in a car

A man has been rescued after getting stuck up to his waist in mud in Herne Bay.

Firefighters were called to Reculver Lane yesterday afternoon where the man - who is thought to be in his early 50s - was trapped.

Crews managed to pull him to safety before being checked by paramedics.

Three fire engines were called at about 2.50pm and were at the scene until about 3.30pm.
