Canterbury: Thief caught on CCTV stealing mobile phone from TJ's E-Cigarettes in Palace Street

CCTV footage shows the moment a brazen thief snatches a mobile phone from a shop counter.

It shows a man browsing TJ's E-Cigarettes in Canterbury before stealing two bottles of vape liquid - worth only £4 each - and quickly pinching an employee's mobile.

After swiping the items, the man - who has a tattoo on his neck - left the Palace Street store at 12.10pm today.

Harry Dent, the employee whose phone was stolen, said: "I was by the display cabinet at the other end of the shop when he came in.

"I was cleaning it and making sure I put all the expensive parts safely away.

"Before I turned to go up to the till and serve him, he went.

"I darted outside but he was nowhere to be seen - he'd gone.

"He's not really got the best disguise so hopefully he can be caught."
