Canterbury police seize cannabis while investigating sale of a sparrowhawk in Vauxhall Avenue

Detectives investigating reports that a bird of prey was being illegally sold made an unexpected cannabis seizure too.

Officers responded to an advert for the sale of a sparrowhawk - an offence under wildlife protection law - and raided a property in Vauxhall Avenue, Canterbury.

While there they discovered six cannabis plants growing in the back garden.
