Canterbury: Police seal off part of Dane John Garden’s after woman reports rape

A children’s play area has been cordoned off by police after a woman reported she had been raped.

Officers have taped off the wooden maze in Dane John Garden’s, Canterbury as they appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

Police remained at the city centre park, off Watling Street, on Sunday morning.

A police spokesman said: “We are investigating a report that a woman was raped by a man in Dane John Garden’s, Canterbury, on the night of Saturday 19 and Sunday August 20.

“Officers are providing support for the victim and are also at the scene conducting ongoing enquiries.

“At present no arrests have been made.”
