Whitstable lifeboat crews rescued a woman from the sea yesterday.

The RNLI lifeboat was called shortly before midday to a 17ft catamaran off Whitstable Harbour, where the woman was in the water and one person was aboard.

Crews brought the woman ashore, where they were met by an ambulance and Herne Bay Coastguard.

She was reported to be suffering the effects of the cold water, but did not need hospital treatment.
