Appeal after woman injured breaking up fight in Canterbury High Street

A woman was seriously hurt as she tried to break up a fight in Canterbury High Street.

The woman suffered severe injuries to her hip as she intervened in the "altercation" in the High Street in the early hours of Saturday.

She is said to have been assaulted by a man on the corner of Guildhall Street between 3am and 3.30am.

A 20-year-old man from Cardiff was arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail until Friday, March 24.

A 23-year-old man arrested at the scene was released without charge.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.
