X-factor stars' Only the Young debut single delayed by Calais crisis

It's not only holiday makers and truckers affected by the crisis in Calais - the debut single by pop band Only The Young has also been delayed.

The track - due to be released on July 31 - has been put back a week after the truck carrying the CDs got stuck in the chaos.

Parisa Tarjomani, who lives in Ramsgate, told BBC Newsbeat "due to all the stuff happening in Calais our CDs actually got stuck."

Only the Young signed a record deal with Warner Music in May this year, when they announced their debut single.

Speaking to KentOnline just after signing, 17-year-old Charlie, explained what it meant for the foursome.

He said: "It has been amazing for us to gain the deal. It's something that has been in the pipe-line for a while and we've just been working away with gigs.

"So this is a really exciting time for us and we've had such a good reaction from people since we found out our news the other day.

"I didn't tell friends or family about it initially - my dad was the first to hear and he just went nuts. We are just excited about working on releasing the single now, but we'll have some more big news soon."

The crisis in Calais has worsened in recent weeks with desperate migrants making hundreds of attempts each night to breach fences surrounding the French port.

Those who gain access try to board lorries or trains they hope will take them to the UK, resulting in a large number of deaths.
