City appoint ex-Kent star as coach

FORMER Kent and Glamorgan county cricketer Mark Dobson is joining Canterbury City Football Club as first team Coach.

Dobson, formerly the England women’s cricket team head coach, has extensive experience in coaching football as well as cricket and was a player with Tyler Hill, Broomfield FC and Herne Bay.

Between 1995 and 2007, he was Head of P.E. at St. Edmund’s School. He has a First Class Honours degree in Sports Science.

Dobson said: “Interestingly, my grandfather on my mother’s side, Wally Tutt (ex-QPR in the early 1930s), was one of Canterbury Waverley’s most famous and popular players”.

City chairman Phil Knight said: “We are delighted that a coach of such a high standard and with so much experience has offered his services to the club. He will be a big asset as we strive for another promotion season”.
