America’s Top Gear presenter Tanner Foust is returning to Lydden Hill this year to compete in the FIA World Rallycross Championship.

Tanner Foust will return to Lydden Hill this year to compete in the FIA World Rallycross Championship.

America’s Top Gear presenter and stunt driver, who first visited the Canterbury circuit in 2010, will return on May 22-24 at the wheel of Volkswagen Polo supercar as he takes on the world’s best rallycross drivers.

Foust – who has a biology degree and will race for the Marklund Motorsport team – has won the event twice before in 2012 and 13, becoming a regular visitor to the one-mile track.
He said: “I’m looking forward to being able to return to the FIA World Rallycross Championship for a select season of events this year.

“The tracks in the series are incredible and I’m especially looking forward to the Lydden Hill event – there is something special about racing at the home of rallycross.”

Foust, 41, has featured as a stunt driver in many Hollywood films, including Bourne Ultimatum, Iron Man 2 and Fast and Furious and the Kent event will mark his first race of the season.
