CANTERBURY Rugby Club's outstanding season has been further rewarded by the game's leading magazine Rugby World.

It has chosen the east Kent club as Team of the Year over opposition from all of rugby's leading names.

The award comes after Canterbury won the London Division One title and became the first east Kent club to achieve National League status next season.

The club also won the Kent County Cup for a second successive year.

The side took the London One title with a record number of points and won every away match.

They suffered only one league defeat in 22 games and also progressed to the fifth round of the National Powergen National Trophy, before losing the National Division One side London Welsh.
