James Tredwell admitted he was pleased to have collected his first wicket of the summer after a three-match drought.

The spinner had figures of 0/71 at Leicestershire, 0/89 at Lancashire and a combined 0/51 in two innings against Northants before Monday’s return of 1/34 - accounting for Varun Chopra - in the YB40 win at Warwickshire.

Tredwell said: “I’ve been in a bit of shape. The ball has been coming out nicely but all it takes is a couple of chances going down or a few other issues and you’re nought-for something.

“I feel really good anyway and I got a good spell under my belt on Monday. Now the first wicket has come hopefully people will stop talking about it and more will follow
