12-hour fun day for little Lilly Costa, Greenhithe, to get a specialist bed

A 12-hour fundraiser and all round good time family day is being hosted to help a four-year-old disabled girl get a specialist bed.

Lilly Costa, from Fieldfare Lane, Greenhithe, was born with spina bifida, a condition which stopped her spine from developing properly, which meant she was born with a hole in it, as well as a number of other conditions.

But her £5,500 bed was a loan from a charity, and in April it will be taken back.

She now needs to raise £4,000 towards a new one.

Mum Sarah Richardson, 24, said: “Without this bed Lilly is unsafe and at high risk of injury as her legs are dead weights and pull her out of bed.”

In the past it has caused her to fall and hit her head, before crashing down the stairs.

On Saturday there is an event for Lilly at the Royal British legion in London Road, Greenhithe, from noon to midnight.

Noon to 5pm will see stalls, a raffle, bouncy castle and barbecue at the centre.

Then from 6pm to midnight a DJ will take over, for people to have a dance, enjoy an auction and a second raffle, and tuck into some fresh popcorn and other snacks,
