A pedestrian killed by a lorry on the M25 has today been named as Jamie Carter from Swanley.

The 42-year-old was hit by the truck in the early hours of last Wednesday and died at the scene.

It is unclear why Mr Carter was on the road when he was hit by a brown DAF truck at about 3.30am.

Kent Police said the investigation is ongoing and continued to appeal for witnesses.

The clockwise carriageway of the M25 was shut between J3 at the Swanley Interchange and J4 at Orpington for almost nine hours amid a police probe.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to phone PC Jamie Woodhams, from the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit, on 01622 798538.
