This is the moment a lorry erupted into a fireball on the M20 last night.

The HGV, believed to have been carrying pallets, caught alight on the London-bound stretch of the carriageway.

Fire crews were called to the scene, between J2 at Swanley at J1 at Wrotham, at about 10pm.

It forced the closure of the carriageway while the vehicle blazed on the hard shoulder.

Crews from Kent Fire and Rescue battled to bring the fire under control while police re-directed traffic.

The motorway was re-opened around an hour-and-a-half later at 11.30pm once the fire was out.
