There are delays on the A2 this afternoon after two lanes were closed at Darenth following a traffic accident.

The incident happened at 11.10am going eastbound between the junctions with the M25 and the B255 for Bluewater.

Both lanes are now open but delays of half an hour still being reported.

Police were called to the the scene alongside Highways England to assist in the recovery effort.

A police spokesman said: "There are no reports of any injuries. The vehicles have been recovered and the road has reopened."

Normal traffic conditions are not expected to resume until between 1.45pm and 2pm.
