Bus driver Greg Emmerson denies causing death of Beatrice Meager in Dartford crash

A bus driver has denied causing the death of an elderly passenger who was fatally injured when it crashed.

Beatrice Meager was on an Arriva single decker when it collided with a Citroen Relay van and BMW 316 car on the A225 Hawley Road, Dartford, on September 19 last year.

Today, Maidstone Crown Court heard the 86-year-old from Dartford was “thrown forward”. She was taken to hospital but died on October 5.

The bus driver, Greg Emmerson, 25, of Freeman Road, Gravesend, denied causing death by careless driving and will stand trial on April 9 next year.

Bail was continued.
