Fire crews called to small blaze in hotel air conditioning unit

Four fire crews were called to the Hilton Hotel in Dartford after a small fire broke out in an air conditioning unit.

A height vehicle was also sent to Masthead Close as a precaution.

Staff at the hotel evacuated all guests and firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, found the fire and contained it to the air conditioning unit in the fifth floor bedroom.

They used a fan to clear a small amount of smoke, but there were no reported injuries.

It was put out by 9pm last night.
