Dartford were denied victory over Southport by a 92nd-minute equaliser in Blue Square Bet Premier at Princes Park on Saturday.

The Darts failed to hit the heights which have seen them gatecrash the top five following their promotion last season and twice allowed a lead to slip against the struggling north-west side.

Skipper Eliiot Bradbrook (pictured) continued his fine form, blasting the hosts ahead on 17 minutes from the edge of the area past the dive of Southport keeper Tony McMillan.

However the lead lasted just four minutes as Steve Akrigg rose highest to head home a free kick from Karl Ledsham past Marcus Bettinelli.

Bradbrook restored the hosts’ advantage from the penalty spot shortly after the half-hour with his fourth league goal of the season after Chris Lever brought down Ryan Hayes in the box.

However Southport continued to battle and Ledsham eventually gave them their reward when he fired into the bottom corner in the second of five minutes added on to deny Dartford their seventh home win from 10 games this season.

As it was, the draw was Dartford's first at Princes Park in the league this season and left them fifth, just three points behind leaders Grimsby, but with sixth-placed Luton set to overhaul them if they can overcome Mansfield on Sunday lunchtime.
