Severe delays expected after crash on Dartford Crossing bridge

Drivers were advised to find an alternative route after a crash on the Dartford Crossing bridge.

Police were called to the scene of the south-bound accident, which blocked two lanes out of four.

Traffic was queueing between Junction 31 and Junction J1A of the M25.

Kent Police have tweeted: “We are currently at the scene of a collision which has happened on the Dartford Crossing bridge.

“There may be significant delays to traffic heading from Essex and into Kent on the #M25 and if possible motorists are advised to avoid the area and choose alternate routes.”

All lanes reopened just before 8pm, but the traffic took some time to clear.
