A pile-up at the Dartford Crossing has been causing chaos for motorists on the M25 today.

Three lorries and a van crashed near the toll booths at about 11.20am - sparking 10-mile tailbacks.

One tunnel was shut, with two lanes closed and traffic stretching back on the anticlockwise carriageway into Kent.

Queues (pictured right) snaked back to J4 for Orpington, with drivers experiencing delays of around 50 minutes.

Heavy traffic also built up on the A225 and into Dartford.

The road was re-opened at about 4pm before the evening rush - but the Highways Agency still advised drivers to find alternative routes as congestion remained.

Crews from Kent Police, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the Highways Agency were called to the scene. No injuries have been reported.
