Officers have issued an image of a ring to try to trace its owner.
The gold ring, shaped like a sovereign, was handed in to a shop on Hythe Street, Dartford, on March 21.
Detective Chief Inspector Ann Lisseman said: "We are hoping to reunite a gold ring handed into a shop in Dartford with its owner.
"If you think the ring is yours, you will need to be able to prove it. This could be through providing a receipt or photograph."
If the ring is yours and you are able to prove it, contact police on 01474 366666.
