M25 crash driver taken to hospital after being freed from smashed van

A van driver was cut free from his crashed vehicle on the M25 today.

The accident happened at 4.25pm on the clockwise carriageway between the Darenth Interchange and Swanley.

The van, which was towing a trailer, tipped on its side, trapping the driver.

He was taken to hospital with injuries to his arm and is not believed to be seriously hurt.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash which has blocked two lanes of the carriageway, causing serious delays.

The crashed van and trailer were taken away by recovery vehicles and the road was reopened about 8pm.
