Dartford drug dealer Kyle Fraser jailed after assaulting a man in Gravesend

A drug dealer who assaulted a man in his car before smashing his mobile phone into the ground has been jailed for four years.

Kyle Fraser of Providence Place, Overy Street, Dartford, was jailed at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm and possession with intent to supply cocaine.

The 21-year-old was charged in connection with an incident in Romulus Road in Gravesend at around 5pm on Sunday March 20, during which he was seen arguing with a man in a car before he punched him in the face.

Fraser also took the man's phone and smashed it on the floor before continuing to hit his victim, after which he drove the car to nearby Canal Road and fled the scene with his injured victim left in the vehicle.

A passerby saw the injured man and called for an ambulance, with paramedics treating him for a cut to the back of his head and a number of wounds to his face and hands.

Officers seized the car as part of their investigation and a DNA result linked the incident to Fraser, who was arrested on Tuesday April 12.

During the arrest officers found three suspicious wraps of powder in his jacket pocket, which were later confirmed to be cocaine.

A quantity of cash and a mobile phone was also found during the arrest and the phone was found to contain several text messages alluding to potential drug deals.

Investigating officer, PC Adella Prescott, said: "Fraser showed no care towards his victim and tried to inflict as many injuries during the incident as he could.

"As part of the investigation we found obvious evidence relating to illegal activity and I’m pleased he has been sentenced for his role in supplying drugs in north Kent.

"I would warn any dealer that officers are watching and drugs activity will not be tolerated here."
