This man is being sought by detectives over a reported sexual assault in Greenhithe.

A 25-year-old woman told police she was approached by the attacker near the station in daylight.

He is said to have tried to strike up a conversation with her in Station Road before launching a sexual assault.

Police said the offender is described as black, in his late 20s and of medium build. He is estimated to be around 5ft 6ins, with short plaited hair, stubble and a was wearing a mobile phone hands-free earpiece on his left ear. He wore a black North Face thin coat and navy blue denim jeans.

Detectives have today released an efit of the suspect, who officers believe was driving a light green Mazda2.

PC Martin Reynolds, from Kent Police, said: "This was a disturbing incident in which a young woman was assaulted in broad daylight by a complete stranger.

"I would encourage anyone that might have witnessed the incident or might recognise the man in this image to contact us as soon as possible."

The alleged attack happened at about 10.30am on Monday, October 14.
