Plans for Stone Lodge consulted on at Dartford Judo Club

Plans to build 120 homes, a school and open space will be discussed at a public consultation tomorrow.

Dartford council is preparing an outline planning application for the 16.6-acre former home of Stone House Hospital, Stone Lodge, and is inviting residents to view a masterplan before it is submitted.

The site has been earmarked for development in the Local Plan and the emerging Stone Parish neighbourhood plan.

The plans include an eight-form entry school

A large open space, which will include new paths, signage and seating, will also be created, while the public footpath will be diverted and supplemented with new pedestrian and cycle routes.

Bat corridors will be provided along the south western edge and reptile habitats to the north will be protected.

Car parks will be provided off London Road and Cotton Lane and an eight-form entry secondary school 3.2-hectare site will be built off London Road. It is due to open in September 2020 while a new home for Dartford Valley Rugby Club should be ready to use by the end of 2018.

Up to 30% of the homes will be affordable.
