Traffic queued back to Orpington and Gravesend junctions after car and lorry collision on the Dartford Crossing

Traffic from the Dartford Crossing is queued back to the Orpington junction on the M25 and the Gravesend junction on the M2 after a crash.

The A226 towards the crossing is also backed up towards Northfleet and the A206 is stationary up to Greenhithe.

A spokesperson for Highways England confirmed that two heavy-good vehicles and a car were involved in a collision at junction 31 at 10:42am.

Police, Kent Fire and Rescue Service, South East Coast Ambulance and Highways England Traffic Officers were at the scene.

Two out of three lanes were initially closed but re opened at 1pm.

There is still slow-traffic with an added 60 minutes on journey times through the crossing.
