Singer and XFactor contestant Jahmene Douglas is switching on Bluewater's Christmas lights

British singer Jahmene Douglas will be turning on Bluewater's Christmas lights.

On Friday November 15 the 22-year-old, who was the runner-up in the X Factor in 2012, will also be performing hits from his number one-selling album "Love Never Fails".

He will be joined by host of other people for an evening of festive entertainment; including Justin Fletcher from Cbeebies and up-and-coming British band Only The Young.

Little ones can join Santa and friends, along with the London Community Gospel Choir as they sing acapella and parade through the mall starting at 5:45pm; leading everyone out to the light switch on festivities.

Justin Fletcher will be getting the party going; dancing and singing some favourite childrens songs with a live band.

Only The Young will take to the stage to perform some up-beat tracks before Jahmene's performance alongside the London Community Gospel Choir.

There will be a big countdown to the switch on followed by a firework display - so be sure to wrap up warm.

Jahmene said: "I’m really honoured to be switching on the Christmas lights at Bluewater this year and kick-starting their festive season. It will be great to get the chance to perform live at such an exciting event."

Robert Goodman, Bluewater’s general manager, added: "Christmas is here at Bluewater. We are really excited about this year’s light switch on performances and what is sure to be a truly excellent family outing and evening of celebration."

The huge shopping centre is also opening its Winter Wonderland on Novemeber 29.

It will include a 40 metre snow slide, indoor ice skating, enchanted Santa’s Grotto and much more.
